A New Thing

This is the first of many blog entries (or the last of one) depending upon whether I decide to continue with this nonsense. For the most part, this blog will focus on religious, philosophical, biblical, moral, and cultural issues; but I'll throw in some silliness here and there. After all, humans are not meant to rattle and buzz like rusty old machines.

I think I ought to know the purpose of writing a blog before I go on doing so, for I have never been fond of doing things without purpose. If teleology underlies the universe, then it underlies me as well, and it should, therefore, underlie my reason for writing a blog as this one . As of right now, since I am the only reader, I consider this more of a public journal than a blog; but perhaps it will morph into a real blog some time hence. Since my mind doesn't think in paragraphs—and I assume this is the case for most people—it's nice to flush out such thoughts into written form to see if I have been making any sense all these years. It's kind of like hearing a recording of your own voice and thinking, "That's the way I sound?".

I can only offer a layman's perspective on certain subjects and queries, but if you're a layman like me, then we can eat and drink and be merry. Well ... or we can at least, in attempting to reach the stars, both yell "Ouch!", when we hit our heads on the ceiling.
